I have an external modem with fax capabilities addicts, who hooked up my phone, and ran the setup wizard through the fax “and Scan.” However, I’m not sure if it will work. Is there a way to properly assess whether I can receive faxes? Additionall, okay, if I were not connected to a printer, fax only in “Windows Fax and Scan will be received, similar to emails received? A good online fax website I’ve used is faxzero.com You can send a 2 page pdf for free, or up to 10 pages for $1.99.

Dial your landline from a mobile, see if the modem answers, that will give you a basic test.

The only way to test further is to get someone to send you a fax.

You only need a Voice modem and a PSTN line.
If you click, “send to” on your document, not to MS Word of course, but to Windows Fax, then …..that’s all you need to do.
A perty little window will pop up where you have to fill in the telephone number of the recipient.
    Mission accompliced
