I’m thinking of purchasing a PS3 for my kids for xmas and have found a 60gb PS3′s on Craigslist for sale for $450 which includes two wireless controllers, Madden 08, and a bluetooth headset . Since Sony discontinued these units, is there any reason why I’d not want to purchase the 60gb unit? I’m assuming they are backwards compatible with PS2 games and everything else is the same except the hard drive size. Is this a good deal? Any watchouts?
What’s the difference between a 60gb PS3 (which has been discontinued) and an 80gb PS3?

I do not believe there are any differences other than the 20GB additional hard drive space.
If you can get the 60GB for the price you mentioned – do it! My only concern would be lack of warranty, but the Playstation 3 does not have a history of failure.
Just hard drive sizes.
Both the 60Gb and 80GB are backwards compatible but the 60GB is compatible with more PS2 games because it has the Emotion engine chip from the PS2. The 80GB uses software and so is backwards compatible with about 85% of PS2 games. Apart from that and hard drive size they are the same so it sounds like a good deal.
They both suck, that’s the similarity.
